My name is Laura. I live in Houston, Texas, USA now (originally from Cleveland, Ohio). I'm a wife, mother of two girls (ages 6 & 2), and work as an office manager in a funeral home.
I have been surrounded by creativity for as long as I can remember. My grandfather was a painter, my grandmother was a seamstress, my mother is a sewer, and my father is a carpenter. I started cross stitching around the age of 10 and prior to that was always making miniature tack for my model horses or furniture for my dollhouse. A toothpaste cap could become a flower pot, a rubberband could transform into a horse halter, or a quilting square could grace a dollbed.
Over the past 10 years, I started designing my own cross stitch charts and have a full range of record album covers (specifically The Beatles), celebrities, animals, fashion and art deco. In 2005, I obtained official licensing for my cross stitch design of the cover of The Black Stallion by Walter Farley, the classic children's book.
